Rare French Gilt-Bronze and Tole Moderator Lamp mid-19th century, now electrified, the faceted body decorated in the chinoiserie taste, with mandarin figures, pagodas and plum blossoms on a black ground, the Rococo Revival gilt-bronze fittings pierced and molded with scrollwork and rocaille work, mounted with a shade. h. 32", dia. 16-1/2" Provenance: Estate of Norma Crawford Myers, Dallas, Texas.
Estimate $1,000-1,500 Overall good condition. The moderator components were removed for electrification. The underneath fitted with a gilt metal plate. The tole body with old professional restorations at primarily two areas at the rim down into the neck. There are typical touch ups and surface losses scattered about the body, all generally varnished out. Mounts crisp and bright. The electrical components in working order.
