Sale 2001 Lot 27

Provincial Louis XVI-Style Fruitwood Window Seat

late 19th century, the long padded seat flanked to either end by a padded acanthine-carved armrest, raised on paneled tapering square legs headed by ribbed capitals, joined by a paneled foliate-carved H-form stretcher and ending in peg toes.
h. 29", w. 43-1/2", d. 18-1/2"

Estimate $1,000-1,500

**In very good condition. Sturdy. There is a small sliver of a crack to the lower edge of one side apron. The fabric is clean and unworn. It appears to be a machine-woven tapestry from the 1920s-1930s and looks very appropriate on this piece.
