Pair of Continental Walnut Prie-Dieux

mid-19th century, each with a molded top and raised panel front above a stepped kneeler.
h. 32", w. 27-1/2", d. 19"

**In good "as found" condition. Each prie-dieu with a waxed finish over mars, shrinkage, chips, some minor insect damage, abrasions and dings creating a handsome, somewhat distressed patina.

A: The bottom shelf/kneeler has a ring of lifted finished, presumably from a plant.

B: There is a missing molding on a return, the molding just beneath the projecting top, about 7-1/4" long by 3/4" wide.
The upper section/back is not tightly affixed to the base and exhibits some play at that joint.

Each "top" board is about 27" wide and 8-1/2" deep.
