Large Pair of Carved Mahogany Armchairs in the Art Nouveau Taste

ca. 1900, attributed to S. Karpen & Bros. Furniture Co., Chicago, the frames boldly carved with sprawling vines and flowers.

**In overall very good condition. Both chairs are very solid and sturdy with no movement exhibited in the arms, legs or backs.

The surfaces exhibit scattered minor rubbing and wear, most notably to the edges of the back feet. No breaks or repairs to legs observed. There are fewer than normal chips or flakes to the edges of carved surfaces.

The upholstery is in very good, approaching excellent, condition.
