Large Japanese Satsuma Sectional Urn first half 20th century, of six-sided baluster form with flared, foliate rim, having a dome-form cover surmounted by a roaring shishi finial, its foot resting on a brocade ball, decorated to the exterior with scenes of 100 Arhats, with borders of mon badges and geometric designs, the whole raised on a six-footed pierced base. h. 51-3/4", w. 26", d. 20"
Estimate $2,000-4,000 **Shishi finial and inside of cover have been professionally restored. There is a hairline crack to the bottom of the urn that has been repaired from the inside and is still visible on the bottom. Both the foot rim of urn and the stand have a few scattered chips. On the stand, there are repairs to the center and to five legs. Urn and vase exhibit some wear/losses to gilding. Structurally sound and in good estate condition.
