Notes: Little is known of the education and career of San Antonio, Texas, artist Jose Ramos. Among collectors there is a story that Ramos belonged to a small group of artists that painted with renowned Texas artist Porfirio Salinas. According to the story, Salinas quietly banned Ramos from his group when he realized that Ramos was more talented than himself.
