Important, Large Chinese Ebonized Rosewood, Parcel-Gilt and Black Marble-Top Console

18th century, possibly an imperial gift, the base profusely carved with various traditional scenes throughout the aprons, including the front apron depicting the emperor in Ming garb returning from battle, the cabriole legs relief-carved with dragons, lotus flowers and other foliate designs.

**In very good condition. There are scattered shrinkage cracks throughout from age. No apparent or significant losses. The console disassembles like a puzzle. It is extremely heavy. The marble top is a later replacement and has a 14" x 14" slightly faded area in the middle where something has sat.
