Iberian Provincial Side Table and Armchair
the oak side table, 18th century, with a rectangular top above a frieze fitted with two short drawers, raised on turned bulbous supports joined by a box stretcher and ending in bun feet, the whole with incised designs, h. 31-1/2", w. 50", d. 25-1/2", and the mahogany armchair with a padded rectangular back surmounted by ribbed finials, joined by flat arms to the padded seat, raised on square legs joined by a box stretcher, h. 44".
Dirty, with shrinkage, scuffs, mars and repairs consistent with age and use. The stretchers exhibit considerable wear from feet, the top has a splice at one corner.
The table exhibits side-to-side movement in its base. No fore-aft play noted.
Blemishes and stains, rubbing to surface. Tight and sturdy. Upholstery in very good condition.
