Handsome Chinese Famille Verte Baluster Vase Kangxi period (1661-1722), of yen yen form, decorated with warriors on horseback, the foot and shoulder decorated with floral medallions on a diapered ground. h. 17-1/2", dia. 6-1/4" Notes: Also referred to as a Guanyin vase, alluding to the Bodhisattva Guanyin, whom carries a vessel of similar form containing ambrosia.
Estimate $1,500-2,500 **Flared lip with well-integrated professional restorations. Scattered faint glaze hairlines, primarily to the lower portion along with a very faint spider hairline underneath. Flowers and design on the foot band are a bit different from those on the shoulder band. Nothing fluoresces.
