George III Mahogany Chest

late 18th century, the rectangular top above a conforming case fitted with four graduated long drawers, raised on bracket feet.

**In good polished and restored condition. The case is sturdy and tight. Drawers slide freely. All locks present; no key. There is a pair of vertical shrinkage cracks on one side of the case; they do not appear to affect its structural integrity. The piece exhibits some routine past restorations, minor dings and wear, and a number of dark stains on the top, now beneath the polished surface.
