George II Giltwood Mirror

second quarter 18th century, with crossetted corners decorated with carved medallions, the outside surround carved with leaves, the interior surround carved with ribbon-wrapped reeds, the field with a sanded finish, set with a later mirror plate.
h. 49-1/4", w. 35"

Estimate $1,000-1,500

**In good "as found" condition. Wear from rubbing and gilt loss around the edges. Appears to retain its original gilded surface. The mirror plate likely replaced. Good overall patina.
