French Louis XV-Style Silver-Gilt Overmantel Mirror

20th century, the surround with mirror glass inserts and carved with scrollwork and rocaille work accented with carved leaves, the crest with a delicately carved and scrolled finial with latticework decoration.
h. 67", w. 53-1/2"

Provenance: Private collection, Galveston, Texas.

Estimate $1,200-1,800

**In "as found" condition. Old glued repairs to the top crest curl and scattered chips and losses along the edges. Some loss to the silvered finish from rubbing, giving it an overall pleasing patina. A few curls gone throughout. Very good detail.
