Egyptian Revival Bone-Inlaid Hardwood Armchair

ca. 1900, the back with a carved sphinx masque, with a mother-of-pearl jewel in its hair, joined to wings wrapping around to form the arm supports, the apron with inlaid strips of bone, cherry and associated hardwoods, the legs with carved hoof feet.
h. 35-1/4", w. 25", d. 21"

Notes: Similar chairs have been in the collection of the Museo Nacional de Ceramica, Valencia, Spain.
