Full Details for Lot 515

Sale 2205 Lot 515

E. Howard & Co. "No. 6" Figure 8 Banjo Clock

third quarter 19th century, Boston, Massachusetts, in a walnut case with a rococo-carved crest and skirt, and a molded door surround, the dial marked "E. Howard & Co., Boston".
h. 57", w. 19", d. 6"

Estimate $3,000-5,000

**There is scattered light wear to the painted dial. Additional screws have been added to hold the dial in place. The interior backboard is cracked at the bottom near the tie-down. The door latch is currently non-functional and two hooks have been added to the outside edge of the door. The movement appears to be intact. The finish is original; however, we are uncertain if the glass has been repainted. All of the glass is wavy. The weight is lacking. The winding key is present.
