American Late Classical Secretary Bookcase

mid-19th century, in two parts, the cove-molded and beaded cornice over a pair of glazed doors with foliate tracery, on a base with a fold-out writing surface, a pair of drawers and a pair of doors, on scroll feet.

Provenance: Private collection, Lafayette and New Orleans, Louisiana.

**In good "as found" condition. The case is sturdy and functional. The surface appears to be an older refinish and restoration. There are some scattered, minor veneer flakes, abrasions, wear and shrinkage. Replaced drawer pulls. One drawer face molding is detached but present. All locks present. No keys.
