American Bronze Double-Arm Argand Lamp

second quarter 19th century, bearing a label reading, "Manufactured for T. Palmer, Baltimore", the center ring dressed with prisms, the arms fitted with period trumpet-form frosted glass shades.

Provenance: Estate of Dr. Carroll Ball, Jackson, Mississippi.

**The elements are firmly affixed, and the lamp is tight, straight and stable. Normal rubbing, wear and embedded dirt. Rubbing to the perimeter edges of the ebonized base. Electrified and internally wired. The valve mechanism at the base of the font was removed in the process. Chips to a number of prisms.
Shades of later manufacture; they are in very good condition with no notable chips or cracks.
